LEY LINES AND VORTICES

Vortices are points of energy on the Earth and Ley Lines are the relationships between those points. The Incas were able to understand how they worked in an implicate and explicate reality. They believed that matter as we experience it was in direct correspondence between this level of reality (explicate) and that of the unseen spiritual reality(implicate), either in the upper world or the underworld.
For the Incas, the presence of these Vortices of Energy of Mother Earth were revealed through volcanic formations, high mountains, hot springs, mineral deposits, sea mounts, forks of rivers, river mouths, large falls, deep gorges, and other types of formation. They were able to determine the path in which these vortices of energy moved along the Andes.
The Incas located their cities and roads in between these Vortices (Ceques) and ley lines (Huacas).
They connected themselves with the different layers of subtle energies that Mother Earth provided to them in a sacred way. They were able to see things the way they really were in connection with the unseen reality.
The complexity of Cuzco (Incan capital) ceque system includes the highly geometrical ordering of the earth's energy system by which the Inca structured their religious, social and economic lives.
The geometrical order of the unseen reality is crystalline in organization. This crystalline matrix is similar to a geodesic dome (a series of triangular shapes that fit together). If the Earth is mapped out as a icosahedron grid, grids meet at various intersecting points forming the matrix. This is equivalent to the acupressure points of our bodies.
The Inca basic belief was that sacred geometry involved sacred universal patterns used in the design of everything in the physical reality and in the unseen reality. That geometry and mathematical ratios, harmony and proportions were also part of light, cosmology and music.
Nature was sacred for them because the spirit of Mother Earth (Pachamama) was in it.  Both needed each other in order to establish harmony for the good harvesting of the soil. Everything worked in a harmonic way and their power of their existence relied in it.

The CONDOR and the EAGLE prophecy.

Exactly 500 years had passed since the arrival of the  European explorers to the Americas and an Incan prophecy of the Reunion of the Condor and the Eagle is being retold by many who still live and respect the forces of nature across the land of the American Continent. After a long and bitter wintertime the prophecy is asking for fulfillment.
Prior to the arrival of the first European explorers a network based on spiritual journeys and cultural relationships existed for centuries across the Western Hemisphere. The highways of this network of spiritual communication were so many that people were able to share knowledge, capacity and resources for mutual aid, trade and development. This ancient network, based in life-preserving and life-enhancing spiritual values and principles was broken apart by European colonization.
The white men's arrival had been prophesied long before they ever set foot on the American continent. The white brother, who forgot many principles of the forces of nature, were supposed to enact awful cruelties on the traditional peoples of the land during the first five hundred years, and the subsequent decimation of the legitimate owners of the land.
They would be disrespectful of the most fundamental rules of the proper human relationship to the earth, and because of that the resulting  catastrophes would affect the Great Mother Earth (Pachamama).
But after 500 years, a great turnabout is going to happen. The white brother will awake like a sleepwalker, from his violent trance. There would be an amazing healing that would affect the entire world, helping with the purging the catastrophes that followed the awakening.
The Spirit of the Condor, guardian of the souls of the people of the Andes (South America) will ask to dance with the Spirit of the Eagle, guardian of the souls of the people of the land (North America). From their dance the flight of both together will let great joy to emerge together with the brotherhood they use to have uniting both the South with the North.
A new relationship between the Earth and all humanity will be ensured, and the union of the Condor and the Eagle that was prophesied long time ago will become true.

The PUMA SPIRIT.

The PUMA SPIRIT, for the Incas, was a powerful and protective spirit. This spirit animal represented the middle world of humans, called "Kay Pacha." It symbolized the power of strength of the human soul and at the same time the strength of the earth surface in the survival task against the negative forces  of nature.
In the Incan belief the human soul was immortal. When a person died, the soul went to the underworld, represented by the spirit of the snake and called "Uku Pacha." The spirit of the puma descended into the underworld to collect the souls allowed to leave the premises. Some of them reincarnate in the Kay Pacha (human world) and others were taken by the spirit of the condor to serve the entities that lived in the upper world, called "Hanan Pacha."
The Incas divided the universe in three different planes or worlds. They were united by an axis that connected all of them. These worlds were perceived individually different.
The Andean Cross represents all of them. It is a three-stepped cross. It symbolizes the subdivisions of the three different planes.
The shaman or priest was the spirit trained to journey through the central axis as a mediator. In a trance, he was allowed to enter into the lower realm or the underworld and to the higher levels inhabited by the superior souls of,  to find out the reasons for the misfortunes of the Earth level (human world).
These Inca symbols - the snake, the puma and the condor - are found in Incan architecture and artwork.
The corners of the Andean Cross (Chacana) represented the values of the Incan culture, such as Love (munay), Knowledge (Yachay), and Work (Llankay). It also represented Respect and Obligation to parents (ancestors), to the Inca ruler, and to the Creator (Viracocha).
Cuzco, the capital city of the Incan Empire was designed in the shape of the PUMA to represent the strength of the energy forces emanating from it in the earth level, the forces of nature. The heart of the animal was located at the main square in which was once the Palace of the Inca Viracocha, the Ninth Incan Emperor. The Temple of the Sun (Coricancha) represented the sex of the Puma, and finally Sacsayhuaman represented the head of the spirited animal.

Why QUINOA, AMARANTH, and PURPLE CORN were sacred to the INCAS?

Quinoa, Amaranth, and Purple Corn were sacred to the Incas because they were extremely rich sources of Iron, Copper, Manganese, and Zinc. They had the highest contribution to mineral intake to the human body.
They were considered sacred given the fact that because of their highest content of minerals, their use in rituals facilitated the transition of movements of sacred energies along the ceques (energy points).
They considered them a gift from the Creator (Viracocha). Through its consumption the cleansing of the negative energies were performed prior the engagements of rituals forming a strong and  clear path of communication between energies coming from the cosmological plane and the earth.
The Incas developed a unique culture that unified Nature and People together into the same fabric of life.
The bond made between earthly and spiritual realms was meant to be there and never be broken.
Purification and working with a clear mind and sincere heart were essential in asking the spirit of the land to provide for the people.
They kept the belief that if you do things in a very good way, good things were meant to follow. If carefully attention were not established between the planes, the result were expected not to be good. War and Famine would appear as a direct consequence from the negligence performed by the unclean ones.
Energy Vortices or Sacred Sites filled with subtle and concentrated energy were located at various geophysical places along the Inca Empire.
It was stated that crystals and minerals were a direct connection to the balance of the energy's lines of the Earth's plane and responsible for maintaining the stability of the earth, and at the same time maintaining the correct magnetic vibration in connection with the planets in the Universe.
The importance of the maintaining a proper harmony of planet Earth in relation to the Sun and Moon was sacred.
The misuse of personal power and misuse of crystals and improper cleansing of the physical human body were instrumental in their beliefs for the demise of their empire.

How come in the Inca society were no thieves?

The Incan empire differed form The Aztecs and Mayan civilization in the way in which the human society responded in a unique way to its formidable land.
The Incan  empire comprised modern Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and  northwestern Argentina.
The boundaries of the empire had a land of desert in the West, the rain forest to the East, and between these extremes the high plateaus and glacial peaks of the Cordillera of the Andes, which formed the central line like if we compare these bodies of land to our human body, the way of the mountains formed the spine in which the whole entity connected itself.
They created a true empire with a sophisticated 14,000 miles of paved roads that helped to unite the many ethnic groups that formed the empire. They encouraged independent kingdoms to join their empire peacefully.
The Incan empire was rural, centralized, and its primary medium of exchange was labour. Cheaf among these were safeguards against famine, which only a large state with good stores and communications could provide.
The system that they developed may seem laborious to our point of view, but it really was the creation of a society that produced the world's finest weaving and set great store by the practical and metaphorical properties of thread. They maintained their records with great accuracy, unfortunately the invaders characterized by a high level of ignorance, destroyed whatever they thought it was the work of witchcraft. This is the reason why little is known of the Incas' intellectual life. They kept their records by quipu, a sort of medium in which only the statistician and chroniclers were the ones who ran it.
The Incas had an advanced arithmetic using zero and place notation. They were familiar with the counting in tens and so on.
When the invaders saw the way in which the Inca society moved on, they were so surprised that there were no thieves, no vicious men, no idlers. They showed so much wisdom and committed so few crimes that no evil thing was found in great scale among them.
The society was based in the belief that peace and prosperity only embraced them when each one of them were purified of any evil force  acting in them.

Who was PACHAYACHACHIC?

To understand fully the concept of the word we have to start with the prefix PACHA. It means "earth,"
"ground," "matter." In the word PACHACUTEC means the overturning or metamorphosis of "pacha."
In the word PACHAYACHACHIC means "the one who teaches the "pacha."
Comparing both, it leads to notice that "pacha" could be unsettled, converted or changing, and at the same time, it can be taught to help in the settling or changing of its energy forces.
Pachayachachic is a word used to describe the highest deity, the one who is both unreachable and unnameable. It is linked with VIRACOCHA in a way of a relationship between the energy forces.
In the CEQUES, the whole theological philosophy of the Inca religion is presented in a small scale, similar to the way in which the Incas and the people before them developed an agricultural testing station in MORAY.
The site is located in the sacred valley. It consists of four deep depressions, which was enlarged and terraced, forming a parabolic shapes like radar dishes. This shape enabled the worker of the soil to mimic a number of different climates by changing the aspect, elevation, humidity and soil type, all within the same area, to obtain a high quality harvest.
In Cuzco, 350 or shrines were divided into four large regions that coincided with the four regions of the empire. They were aligned from the CORICANCHA in a radiating shape pointing to the four cardinal points. Certain roads of energy also emanated from the central point of temple of the sun.
These CEQUES (energy points) became four paths corresponding in sequence to the four royal paths that came out at the same time of the royal city of Cuzco.
The Pachayachachic deity was not limited to the ceques that were the holders of the cosmic energy grabbed by the Huacas and shrines located in them. Rather the Huacas and shrines were places that connected this unfolding energy to the Teacher of the Pacha. The joining of the three cosmic planes produced an enormous bolt or opening that the only one capable of sustain it was The Mediator.
The Mediator was part of a triad or trinity of forces in which Pachayachachi was in the form of a Father, the day force was represented by the deity Punchau and the lightning force represented by the deity Inti-Illapa.
The shrines were related to the members of the trinity in the three cosmical levels or planes making in total nine organized in groups of three, according to the rhythm or pattern of Father, Son and Younger Son.  In the same way Cuzco was the central point of the cosmic energy, representing the Father, then Machu Picchu (Old Mountain) representing the older son, and Huayna Picchu (Younger Mountain) representing the younger son.

Who were the MOCHES? (100BCE - 800EC)

The name MOCHE derives from the Moche Valley which, along the Chicama Valley were the heart of the Moche Culture.
In a strict visual context, the MOCHE's art style is one of the most representational styles in the ancient Andes.
It is rich in symbolism that gives us an idea of the beliefs and functions of its religious centers. They built large ceremonial places known as "huacas," that served as receptors of sacred cosmic energies that were received throughout their cosmic ceremonial calendar. This places were also used as burial site for Moche elite.
Geometric designs, portrayals of supernatural entities and events, warriors engaged in combat, captives, plants and animals, architectural structures, are among the subjects chosen by Moche's artists in their representations of their people and their beliefs.
One particular type of a decorated ceramic vessel named "the stirrup-spout"consists of a globular body from which two tubes emerge and join together to make a central spout. It is 2000 years old. It is being priced for their symbolic meaning of dualism, which is the basic ingredient of the Andean religious beliefs.
Another  stirrup-spout vessel at the Museo Larco portraits a deity called "Wrinkle Face"(occasionally referred to as AIPAEC meaning "the Creator", QUISMIQUE, meaning 'the Old One; the Fanged God and the Serpent belt God) and his consort having sexual intercourse. The peculiarity of the scenery is that the figures are not placed face to face, instead the masculine figure of the god is behind her, and at the same time he is grasping her chin with his right hand, a gesture that sometimes occurs in examples showing combat scenes in which the triumphant warrior grasps the chin of a captive.
Another peculiarity of the Moche's art is the highly realistic and individualized busts of personalities having mushrooms either on top or on the side of their heads.
The highly pictorial quality of small scale Moche art follows consistent rules and aims for clarity in interpreting them. It minimize ambiguity. It focus on action, movement and interaction between figures. They used techniques such as scale and vertical positioning to indicates depth of fields and a type of "locators" to indicate that a physical setting is being in use. It also uses symmetry and reversible imagery and the metaphorical transformation of parts of figures into other forms or entities.
The relationship between  objects, concepts and events described in the subject of rituals were used as a  tool of human language and serve as a basis for understanding the world through logic thinking.
The human body served as the model for understanding the world. I  that context human sexuality was linked to a larger-scale phenomena such as social organization and agricultural planting seasons (fertility imagery).

MUSHROOMS, were they familiar to the Incas?

Considering that the MOCHICA-CHIMU cultures connected directly to both MOCHE and WARI and to the INCA cultures, the understanding of the rituals in which the role of the mushrooms played an important part, were well known during the time of the Incan Empire.
The INCAS were known to incorporate other beliefs or religions and worship into their own as seen in PACHACAMAC and other religious sites that belonged to the conquered cultures.

The Moche (100 BCE-800 EC), a culture known for its spectacular archaeological finds, produced in their ceramics anthropomorphic beings with representations of mushrooms. They provide the most expressive, varied and the most clear evidence of all Peruvian Cultures that mushrooms were used in their everyday life and played an important symbolism in their spiritual beliefs.
Moche art provivides a window in which we can observe the mind and rituals of its people, creating in us a unique chance to better understand the role of mushrooms in the ancient Peruvian world.
They display three different levels of understanding. The first level use a REALISTIC representation of them. The second level is SUBTLE "hidden" that are easily missed if one is not looking for them, but clear when one has found them. The third level is an ABSTRACT SYMBOLIC or iconographic representation or uses with which they were associated.

On the North West of Lake TITICACA, in the town of Chucuito, there are finely carved stones in the shape of mushrooms. The age of the stones is unknown and the purpose remains a mystery.
To create a tourist attraction, the site was declared as a "Temple of Fertility"named IncaUyo.

The Pucara (1200 BCE-400CE), a highland culture had a very deep influence in the region for the Tiahuanco and Wari cultures that followed after their demise.  The Pucara site was built under a rock formation which looks like a feline shape, most likely, a puma shape.
They have a strong visual evidence that mushrooms were used ritually. They also produced mushroom shaped stones.

Francisco Pizarro, was really a "CONQUEROR"?

Born in Trujillo, Spain, he was the illegitimate son of Gonzalo Pizarro, an infantry colonel and Francisca Gonzales, a woman of poor means.
His exact birth date is uncertain, but is believed to be sometime in the 1470's. He grew up illiterate.
He was a distant cousin of Henan Cortes, an adventurous sailor.
Reports of Peru's reaches was not a fable anymore. Those news tantalized Pizarro to the point that he undertook to expeditions heading to the land of the Incan Empire. Both failed as a result of bad weather and lack of provisions.
In the meantime the governor of Panama made an offer to him. If he was able to settle in Panama, he would become the major of the city. He accepted and became a wealthy citizen.
But he was not content with the life in a small frontier port. He still was pursued in his dreams by the rumors of the golden land of the Incas and he was obsessed to became the owner of that land.
He obtained a considerable authority from King Charles I over the lands that he planned to obtain either by cheating or by mercenary force.
The expedition left Panama in 1530. He reached Tumbes, the northernmost coastal city of the Inca Empire. At Tumbes an Inca noble, a high official of the empire, made it his business to visit the bearded strangers. He came on board, examined the ships closely, and asked the foreigners what they were doing.
Pizarro did not have enough men to begin his invasion, but he thought he might as well get over the formality, informing that the land and the people shall be subject to the Church and the King of Spain.
One can imagine the smiles of the Inca noble, who knew the scale of eternity. How much was rendered into Quechua, the Inca language, is unclear.
Inca Atahualpa refused to tolerate a Spanish presence in his lands but was captured. A ransom for his release was demanded. They wanted a very large room filled with gold. Their plan was to kill the Inca after receiving the ransom because The Inca was the Head of the Empire.
They did so and proclaimed the ownership over the land. As usual, quarreling began among them.
Pizarro's best friend declared war against him but was captured and assassinated by Pizarro.
His embittered son assassinated Pizarro in Lima and that was the end of the "CONQUISTADOR."

What the word VIRACOCHA meant to the INCAS?

The word VIRACOCHA, a quechua term for LIGHT then and now, has misled many into thinking  the Incas took the Europeans as gods. The real truth is that the Incas did not take them as gods.
Since the color of their skin was white,  and, in the sense of the Inca's religious concept, the Europeans needed to prove to the Inca that they were truly the sons of the light as they identified themselves as "sons of the real God."
As we can see through the narratives written by the same Europeans, they couldn't prove it, resulting in the assassination of the Inca Atahualpa and the confiscation of an overwhelming amount of gold paid to them for the ransom of the Inca's soul.
To understand what were the beliefs that played an important role in the demise of the empire we begin with the word VIRACOCHA. What the word Viracocha meant to them?
It was understood as "SEA OF FAT" and referred to the associations of the CREATOR with the MILKY WAY.  The dual energy, that was and still is,  emanating from this interrelation was denominated "moisture," "animal fat," 'the sea," and "the color white."
The Andean world was and still is structured by a dual system, which is a system of complementary opposites. It resembles the Chinese Yang and Ying. For the Incas the two halves are called HANAN (Upper) and HURIN (Lower). Man,sun, fire, mountains, and so forth, belonged to the upper half; woman, moon, water, sea, and coast, to the lower half. And the most important concept is here - present and center are upper; past and periphery were lower. It is very important to understand how it worked in the spiritual realm in order to get the full concept of the religious beliefs they had and still have.
The Incas believed that history was a succession of ages divided one from another by a cataclysm epoch. They called it a "pachacutec" which meant an "overturning of the world." This upheaval reversed the polarity of the halves: what was upper became lower, and vice versa.
The Incas implied with this explanation of revolving ages that the new order of things was about to begin. The unnatural and destructive force of the Europeans from the Andean point of view, could not be accepted and would one day be reversed. For the past order is not irrevocable; it remains latent in the underworld, awaiting return: one pachacutec demands another.

The INCAS and the AGE OF REASON

The Incas "reigned" in their empire, they did not "rule". They considered that all the world belonged to the Creator, Viracocha. Under that philosophy we can see that the Castile is of the Spaniards, and the Indies of the Indians, and Guinea of the Negroes, and so on. Each of these are the lawful owners (according to the laws of nature) of their lands. No European neither Spaniard nor any priest had the right to violate the natural laws of ownership.
The Incas were the natural owners of the Andes, they were taught from the very beginning the superior ways to till the ground and respect the laws of nature otherwise disaster would come over them.
When the fight between the two stepbrothers (Huascar and Atahualpa) arose, all the empire was conscious of what was happening in the spiritual world. They knew already that any unbalance of the forces of nature they would suffer the consequences of losing its cosmic shield of protection against the evil forces of the underworld. The balance was broken. They were expecting already their own destruction.
When the Europeans arrived, the People of the Andes treated them as the messengers that were coming from the cosmic realm. They thought they were from the forces of the sky coming to help to put in order  the natural forces that governed the empire in the person of the Inca.
The Inca was the king and possessor of the spiritual laws that governed the empire. The Europeans were not strange to the way this forces worked and at the very beginning,  instead of provoking a confrontation and being treated as intruders they played the role of messengers and the Inca, mistakenly treated them as those who in the past helped them to control and harmonize the natural forces around them. These fake messengers tricked him and the whole empire suffered the consequences. The Incas had so much faith in their Creator and were very loyal and very charitable and humble, and they raised their sons and daughters with discipline and respect for the authority. On the other hand the Europeans were the opposite, they were driven by the power of the self-interest and the lust for the pleasures of the world and were blind to the real spiritual power. Europeans felt intimidated by such pure power of virtue and they really want a piece of that natural energy emanating from the People of the Andes. But such power is not manifested in a very polluted body. Europeans at that time were suffering the consequences of their own abuse of power and were trying to escape to any place to avoid death.

Why the Spaniards didn't leave the land of the INCAS?

Unlike Asia and Africa, America never saw their invaders leave. Their autonomy was lost, but that does not mean they have disappeared. Many survived, specially the ones who still lives in the cordillera and valleys around.
In the Andes, more than 12 million people still speak the language of the Incas. For five centuries we have listened only to the history of the "winners".  It is time to hear the other side of the story that began in 1492 and still continues to this day.
America as a continent was not discovered because by logical thinking you cannot discover an inhabited land. Instead we can say it was invaded. Such an obvious point has been distorted by the history that Europeans wrote and taught to the world that was totally in chaos and in need of fairy stories or myths.
The history of the other side is also mythical, but while Western myths are triumphalist, those of the 'less fortunates' have to explain and overcome catastrophic scenarios.
Education about the world to the generations of the 1950s and 1960s was something that happened mainly in Britain before 1850s. A little of Greece and Rome, and a great deal of the Tudors, Stuarts and Hanoverians was the drummed history of the time. Nothing about the Incas of Peru and other cultures of Central America. They were dismissed by Western historiography.
Ancient America was shown as poor and undeveloped continent, laking the progress that the humans in the other side of the world had. The plow and the wheel were their favorites; another was writing. Historians took the absence of them as proof that ancient Americans weren't civilized. It never occurred to them that plows and wheels are not much use without draft animals such as oxen or horses, neither of which existed in the Americas.
Ancient Americans developed magnificent achievements in fields that are now being of great interest to astronomers and mathematicians.
We can see from this perspective that the Europeans felt diminished by the outstanding achievements that this people did without the commodities of the West.  They did not tell to the western world the real story about this great civilization instead they meddled the cultures hoping in the end to reach the knowledge that these Andean People had. But one important they forgot, these Andean People were not cut for the pleasures of the western lifestyle, instead they were formed and dressed to fight for the rights of the Cosmic Force of the Creation and to maintain the harmony of these force in every living being around the Cordillera of the Andes.

THE CORICANCHA : A Temple for the "TRUE GOD" of the Incas.

The implications that the INCAS were simply sun-worshippers is clearly not accurate. There is more to this Temple than sun worship.
The name "CORICANCHA" means "The courtyard of cosmic gold" in Quechua, the language of the Incas. It was dedicated to worship the "TRUE GOD," the most important deity in the Inca's pantheon of deities.
In addition to hundreds of gold panels lining its walls, there were life-size gold figures, solid-gold altars, and a huge GOLDEN SUN DISC.
The sun disc reflected the sun rays and bathed the Temple in light. The image that it gave to the people of the Andes was that the Spirit of the Creator was manifested through the person acting as ruler of the empire. During the summer solstice, the sun shone directly to a niche where only the Inca chieftain was permitted to sit.
An interesting drawing of an Incan altar piece inside the remains of the Coricancha give us a clear understanding of what the Incas were worshiping at the Temple of the "True God."
Garcilazo de la Vega, a Peruvian writer describes it in the following excerpt: ..."what we shall call the high altar, although this expression did not exist among the people of the Andes, was placed to the EAST, and the roof, which was very high, was of wood, covered with straw. The four walls were hung with plaques of gold from top to bottom, and the likeness of the light emitted by the sun topped the high altar. This likeness was made of a gold plaque twice as thick as those that paneled the walls, and was composed of a round face, prolonged by rays and flames.... The whole thing was so immense that it occupied the entire back of the Temple."
The Golden Disc in the drawing is shaped in a distinct oblong shape, and is separated from the self-evident sun-disc. It also has a complex set of celestial symbols of which the sun is simply one of several. The elliptical disc appears to be part of a celestial Trinity. In the center of the diagram of the High Altar is a massive Golden Ellipse. To either side of it are the sun and the moon and depictions of Venus as the morning and evening star. The ellipse is surmounted by a cross of stars and further stars lie below it. This celestial scene focuses upon the ellipse as the all-important source of the Universe, the True God.
The ellipse was the "True Sun" of the Inca. It was the image of the Creator, called VIRACOCHA, translated as "Ruler of the entire Universe." The "True Sun" to make it distinguished from our familiar luminary

The realm of the "INNER WORLD" (Ukhu Pacha). Part 2

When the Spanish came to the area, rituals about to balance the forces of the Inner World were crucial in the missionary activity and mining operations. The belief of the dualistic nature in everything and the rituals surrounding the openings to the Inner World made it easier to initially get the population to work in the mines.
However, at the same time, because mining was considered a perturbation of "subterranean life and the spirits that ruled it; they yielded to sacredness that did not belong to the familiar universe, it had to deal with a deeper and riskier sacredness."
Almost the entire population of the empire were killed by the diseases that were brought by the Spaniards, and the disturbances that the people of the Andes experienced in their homeland proved to them that the forces that inhabited the underworld were in serious perturbation.
In the time being, in order to ensure that perturbations do not cause evil on the world, the people of the Andes continue making traditional offerings to the inhabitants of the Underworld (the Supay).
Today, the people still retain the importance of the rituals.
Although the different realms are distinct, there are a variety of connections between them. Caves and Springs serve as connections between the Inner World and the World where the humans, animals, plants, coexist.  Rainbows and Lightnings serve as connections between the Upper World and the world in which we live.
In addition, human spirits after death inhabit any of the levels. Some would remain in the middle realm until they had finished business, while others might move to higher levels.
The most significant connection between the different levels was performed at the time when a huge cataclysm happened, making the whole world change the appearance. These are considered the instances when the different levels of reality impact one another transforming the entire order of the world.

The realm of the "INNER WORLD" (UKHU PACHA). Part 1

The quechua (Inca's language) word "PACHA," often is translated as "WORLD." The INCA's concept about the design of the COSMOS was that it was divided into different spheres. There were THREE different levels of the WORLD (Pacha) :
-The UPPER REALM (Hanan  Pacha) included the sky, the sun, the moon, the stars, the planets, and constellations (of particularly importance being the Milky Way). It was inhabited by the masculine force, the SUN GOD (Inti), and the feminine force and MOON goddess (Mama Quilla). In addition, the god of thunder and lightning, also inhabited the upper realm.
The MIDDLE REALM (Kay Pacha) was interpreted as the perceptible world where humans, animals, plants all inhabit. This realm is often impacted by the struggle between the Upper Realm and the Inner Realm.
The INNER REALM (Ukhu Pacha) is associated with the dead as well as with new life. As the realm of new life, it is associated with harvesting and the fertility goddess Pachamama. Then as the realm associated with the dead, it is inhabited by the group of demons (the Supay) that torment the living.

The realms were understood as not solely spatial, but as a simultaneously spatial and temporal. Although the universe was a unified system, the division between the realms (worlds) was part of the dualism found in everything. It was believed that everything that existed had both extremes. For example, hot and cold, positive and negative, dark and light, etc.
Human disruptions of the Inner Realm (Ukhu Pacha) were considered a sacred matter and ceremonies and rituals were often associated with disturbances in the Middle Realm (Kay Pacha).
During the time of tilling for potato crops the disturbance of the soil was met with a host of sacred rituals. The rituals were precise and often brought food, drink (chicha) and other comforts to CAVE OPENINGS for the spirits of the ancestors.

HUACAS or PACARINAS and PACARITAMBO, what they meant to the INCAS?

The term HUACA or PACARINAS refers to natural locations which holds an energy presence or spirit. They are commonly located in all regions of Peru in correlation with the regions populated by the pre-Inca and Inca civilizations. Cities were built around this central points of energy in all the regions.
Their religious beliefs were founded in the understanding of the soul. All the inhabitants were unified through the power of their souls and as such every one of them had a specific function and held immortality.
According to their myths many of his ancestors emerged from the HUACAS that were called "the inn of the dawn." The INCA itself emerged from PACARI-TAMBO.
Pacari-tambo, the word "Pacari"means "to dawn / to be born, and "Tambo" means "Inn, Lodge." It was located on the hill TAMBO-TOCO. The word "Toco" means "niche, hole or gap," in the wall.
According to one myth, Pacari-tambo was a house. The house, a mythical place, was flooded by Lake Titicaca. Then some entities that were coming from Titicaca Lake and from Tiahuanco entered TAMBO-TOCO and from there eight Inca brothers and sisters came out through Pacari-tambo and then they went to the HUACA HUANACAURI, coming from COLLAO towards the CITY OF CUZCO. From the Huanacauri hill the INCA watched the CUZCO VALLEY.
A Huaca was built along a ceremonial line of energy or route, and was done for the enactment of sacred rituals within the CAPITAL at CUZCO. This lines of energy were called CEQUES. They were laid out to express the cosmology in which their beliefs were based on. Also they were aligned astronomically to various stellar risings and settings related to seasonal ceremonies and universal time keeping. These CEQUE lines had a significant resemblance to the movement of the cosmic energy in the universe in which we are part of.
HUACAS and PACARINAS became significant centers of worship and a POINT of UNITY and common citizenship to all.

HOPE was an essential LIFE FORCE for the people of the Andes.

HOPE was defined by the people of the Andes as an essential LIFE FORCE having a great significance in the every day life.
HOPE was vital for everyone. It was considered an inner power or a strong expectation of something better in the outcome of every situation that they faced in their communities or private lives.
HOPE was renewed or restored or increased or encouraged with the confidence that everyone had in themselves, their spirituality, their government, and the future.
HOPE was not depended on facts or logic, not even was understood as an ordered into being.
HOPE was a powerful energy that gave to life the capacity of achieving goals that lead them to a better future during their time. They knew that if that balance or communication between energies were broken their future were doomed.
HOPE gave meaning and happiness. It forced life to believe in trust. Every individual was unique and in a personal manner they motivated themselves in the increase of their inner spiritual power in order to achieve the common goals of the communities in which they lived.
HOPE was defined as an anticipation of a future which was good, based on mutuality (relationship with others), a sense of personal competence, and coping ability. It was a part of the future. It developed a positive attitude and a strong feeling of possibility.
HOPE was a subjective state that influenced the reality to project itself and come. They were able to manage their internal and external realities.
HOPE was a life force characterized by a confident yet uncertain expectation of achieving a positive future. They needed to live in harmony with nature.
HOPE was manifested by as a strong positive force able to achieve the goals established first in their inner spiritual realm and be projected to the conscious reality of the every day life.
HOPE boosted the individual in the process of growing from the inside out. It was a essential LIFE FORCE able to manifest itself as a royal shield protecting the harmony between the individual and the laws of nature.

THE INTI RAYMI SACRED RITUAL Part Two

This ceremony was started inside the CORICANCHA in the presence of the SUN representation that was made of very polished gold that at the SUNRISE was reflected with a blinding brilliance.

Then the INCA, along with his noblemen, went toward the great Plaza through the INTI ' IQLLU or STREET of the SUN (present-day LORETO street) in order to witness the LLAMA SACRIFICE.
The WILLAQ UMA (High Priest) had to perform the LLAMA sacrifice offering a completely BLACK or WHITE LLAMA.
With a sharp ceremonial golden knife called TUMI he had to open the animal's chest and with his hands pulled out its heart, lungs, and viscera, so that observing those elements he could foretell the future. Later, the animal and its parts were completely incinerated.

After the sacrifice, the High Priest had to produce the SACRED FIRE. Staying in front of the SUN he had to get its RAYS in a CONCAVE GOLD MEDALLION that contained some soft or oily material in order to produce THE FIRE that had to be kept during the next year in the CORICANCHA and the ACLLAWASI (House of Chosen Women).

Subsequently the priests offered the SANQHU that was something like "HOLY BREAD" prepared from maize flour and blood of the sacrifice LLAMA; its consumption was entirely religious.

When all the ritual stages of the INTI RAYMI were finished, all the attendants were positioned in the SOUTH-WESTERN Plaza's sector named KUSIPATA (present day Plaza del Regocijo) where after being nourished, people were entertained with music, dances and abundant chicha.
In the present day, the INTI RAYMI is staged annually in SACSAYHUAMAN on JUNE 24 with the participation of hundreds of actors wearing typical outfits.

THE INTI RAYMI SACRED RITUAL Part One

The 'Feast of the Sun" or "Inti Raymi" was the most important, biggest, magnificent and spectacular festivity carried out in the INCA Times.
The reason was to worship  the "APU INTI" (Sun God). Every year, the celebration was performed on JUNE 21, that is, IN THE WINTER SOLSTICE of the SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE, in the great Main Plaza of CUZCO city.
Since the INCAS considered themselves descendants of the Sun, the worship had to be done annually. The Festivity was carried out by THE END OF THE POTATO and MAIZE HARVEST. They performed the ritual as an act of thankfulness for the abundant crops or otherwise in order to ask for better crops during the next season. To keep the blessing and asking the Sun not to abandon its children, the quechuas performed diverse rituals, given the fact that during the solstices the Sun is located in the farthest point from the earth or vive versa.
The preparations were carried out in the CORICANCHA (Sun Temple), in the ACLLAHUASI (House of chosen Women), and in the HUACAYPATA that was the NORTH-EASTERN sector of the great Main Square.
Some days before the ceremony, all the population had to practice fasting and sexual abstinence. Before dawn on JUNE 21st, the Cuzquenian nobility, presided over by the Inca and the WILLAQUMA (High  Priest), were positioned on the HUACAYPATA (the Plaza's Ceremonial Portion), the remaining noble population were positioned on the KUSIPATA (South-Western portion).
The MALLKI (Mummies of the noble ancestors) were brought and they were positioned in privileged sectors so that they could witness the ceremony.
At SUNRISE, the population had to greet the SUN GOD with the MUCH'AY, that was the act of sending forth resounding kisses offered symbolically with the fingertips.
Then, people sang in tune solemn canticles in a very low voice that after a while were transformed into their WAKAY TAKY (weeping songs), arriving like this to an emotional and religious climax.
Subsequently, the INCA (The Son of the Sun) placed in his two hands TWO Golden Ceremonial Tumblers called AKILLA containing AQHA (chicha= maize beer) which were prepared inside the ACLLAWUASI (House of chosen Women).
The beverage of the TUMBLER in the RIGHT HAND  was offered to the SUN and then POURED into a GOLDEN CHANNEL COMMUNICATING the PLAZA with the SUN TEMPLE.
The INCA DRANK a sip of CHICHA from the LEFT HAND holding the second TUMBLER, and the remaining amount of CHICHA was then drunk in sips by the noblemen close to him.
Later the drink was offered to every attendant.
The symbolic performance of this ritual was aimed to maintain the harmonic energy placed in the hand of the INCA in relation to the cosmic energy placed in the Sun God by the Creator.

THE ASTRAL BODY ACCORDING TO THE INCAS

Bible teachings enable us to become aware that CHRIST must be born within. There is a distinction between the CHRIST which is born within us, our true saviour, and the cosmic CHRIST, the Christ without. This cosmic Christ helps us in the task of having Christ born within; however, it is our task to form the Christ within, the 'soul body" which is the vehicle humanity will need to live in the New Jerusalem.
The same concept was shared by the INCAS. They believed in the "astral body"or "soul body" because of the ability it conferred upon the one who has it to traverse the 'starry" regions.
The soul body was considered the 'living stone." In a similar way, it is regarded in the Bible as  the "wedding garment" that Christ speaks of in the Gospel of Matthew, also the "soul body" that Paul mentions in the First Epistle to the Corinthians, or the "diamond soul" spoken in some of the ancient philosophies.
The INCAS understood the concept of the threefold Spirit, the threefold Body and the threefold Soul.
The threefold Spirit were known as : -the "Divine Spirit" aspect;  -the "Life Spirit" aspect; - the "Human Spirit"  aspect.
The threefold body consisted of : -a "Dense Body," which is visible;  -a "Vital Body," which was made of ether, it was the vital instrument for specializing the energy of the sun and manifested as a brilliant light surrounding our visible body;  -a "Desire Body," which was the emotional nature. It was also manifested as a type of energy emanating from our physical body in a manner different than the Vital Body.
The threefold Soul consisted of : - the "Conscious Soul," extracted from the Dense Body, which was emanated from the Divine Spirit aspect;   - the "Intellectual Soul," extracted from the Vital Body which was emanated from the Life Spirit aspect;  - the "Emotional Soul," extracted from the desire Body which was emanated from the Human Spirit aspect.
In the Book of Daniel, we can observe how the Assyrian king is trying to control all these regions using only selected beings able to travel through the places in which they were not able to do so, since the chosen ones were trained to do so in a very meticulous way by the "Creator."

VIRACOCHA, the quechua name of the "CREATOR." Part 2

His people kept this precept for some time. But some of them were weakening the connection given the fact that the dark spirits of pride and covetousness were taken over their spiritual bodies.
These people transgressed the precept and provoke the immediate falling from its places. The vibration that was suppose to be maintained broke from the source.
Viracocha had to confound them in order to preserve the rest of the people, leaving them without his protection. Falling through their sin, Viracocha cursed them.
Some were turned into stones, others into other things. Some were swallowed up by the earth, others by the sea.
A flood came over, which they called UNU PACHACUTI, which means "WATER THAT OVERTURNS THE LAND."
They say that it rained 60 days and nights. All but three humans were destroyed but, from these survivors, the human race once again sprang forth.
The world was still in darkness, though, so Viracocha made the sun, moon and stars from the islands in the centre of Lake Titicaca.
There alone remained some vestiges of those who were turned into stones, as a memorial of the event, and as example to posterity, in the edifices of PUCARA, a fortress city, located at 60 leagues from CUZCO.

VIRACOCHA, the quechua name of the "CREATOR." Part 1

According to the belief of the people of the Andes, they affirm that in the beginning, and before this world was created, there was a being called VIRACOCHA.
He created a dark world without sun, moon or stars. In the first book of Moses commonly called Genesis, in the first verses it is described a world full of darkness upon the face of the deep blackest hole.
The complete name of this being was VIRACOCHA PACHAYACHACHI which means "CREATOR OF ALL THINGS."
He first created the whole world in the spiritual realm. A race of giants formed, but their greatness were measured according to their size. It meant that the consciousness of the universe in the spiritual realm was evolving from these powerful forces.
It is confirmed in the Book of Moses when he mentions that the waters brought forth swarms of living creatures, forming the great sea monsters together with every living creature that moved, according to their kind. He is describing the formation of these forces in the spiritual world.
Not only this race of giants were formed in the water, also birds were allowed to fly above the earth across the firmament of the heavens.
This race of giants were spiritually painted and sculptured  by VIRACOCHA. In other words, they were first an idea, then became reality through his thought. He did it just to see if it would be well to make real men of that size in the physical world. Men came after in the image of the Creator and they lived in a world full of darkness.
Viracocha ordered them to live without quarreling, and use their time in the pursuing of knowledge and service to him. They had to maintain a clear spiritual connection, and to achieve that, Viracocha gave them a certain precept which they were to observe. It was something like a hidden code. If they failed to do so then a pain of being confounded followed, breaking the source of its connection immediately. It is compared to as a type of vibration that the mind should identify only if the precept was followed rigorously.

The PLEIADES and the INCAS.

Astronomy played a key role in the powerful social organization of the INCA empire, in order to maintain such a vast territory under one rule.
Following the demise of the earlier HUARI and TIAHUANACO cultures, the INCAS took a sacred oath of moving the energies that governed those empires into a safe place. The city of CUZCO was laid out in a radial plan which mimicked the sky and pointed to specific astronomical events on the horizon.
The most important events involved certain risings and settings of the Sun, Moon, and Stars.
The PLEIADES star cluster developed a specific language when it rose or set, it signaled the start of the INCA year.
The PLEIADES were known to them as "The Seven Kids" after the seven brightest stars in the cluster. The INCA were able to see 13 stars due to the clear atmosphere at the high altitude of CUZCO.
They built carefully oriented pillars on hills overlooking CUZCO, and when the Sun rose or set between the pillars, it meant that it was the right time to plant at a specific altitude. If we reason this logic in term of power, they were able to capture important energies the needed to maintain the harmony between the cosmos and the land.
A whole range of pillars was employed so that the most accurate TIME-KEEPING record was possible for the high altitudes, the valley floor, and everywhere in between. The QUIPUS were the only method of recording this information they used and still is used by the local people.
They ritually made sacrifices to the Sun asking him to rise in the proper place for planting in the spiritual realm and the physical realm.
The astronomers built observatories where they capture the first and the last rays of the Sun through a series of specially placed windows. Their chief observatory was called "CORICANCHA", or "GOLDEN ENCLOSURE", and was covered completely in gold. A golden Sun disk faced the rising Sun.
The city of CUZCO in the Andes Mountains was the spiritual and political heart of the INCA empire.
When the Europeans (Spaniards) entered in this sacred city they felt uneasy. Many got goose bumps, tingles, warm rushes and a strange sense of fear. They panicked and declared that the INCAS were evil possessed people.
To hide their greed  for the precious gold they saw in front of them they portrait themselves as sheep trying to help the INCAS to maintain the power over the extensive land. As soon as the INCA fell for it they kill him and the whole empire lost the cosmological harmony that once they enjoyed and maintained with their whole heart.

The Milky Way to the Incas meant a Portal to the Otherworld.

The INCA EMPIRE controlled the largest territory in the history of the New World. Its dominion enclosed the lands from Chile to Ecuador, from the south to the north, and from the west to the east.
To the INCAS, the MILKY WAY was referred to as a RIVER flowing through the world of the stars.
The VILCANOTA River was its hologram running in its terrestrial land from the southeast to the northwest through the heart of PERU.
The VILCANOTA and the MILKY WAY were considered twins. Each are said to be the mirror images of one another as if they were entities connected somehow in different planes.
The INCAS believed that the orientation of the Milky Way run southeast to northwest; and during the twilight periods of the soltice, a CROSS was formed in the sky. This CROSS touched the four points on the horizon in which the sun rose and set during the equinoxes. This Cross divided the stars into FOUR separate directional quarters, forming the FOUR quarters of the territory that the Incas controlled, which they called "The Tawantinsuyu" which means "The land of the four quarters."
The INCAS believed that the souls of the deceased went to the "UPPER WORLD" which they called the "HURIN PACHA."
This world was visited by the living souls in the night while they were sleeping. They believed that dreams were the views of the eyes of the soul. It was possible because of the Milky Way which was the Portal to heaven from the ones who still were bound to a life in the earth.
The Portal had channels of energy in specific location in each quarter of the empire in which the priests took the offerings from the INCA and his people to the entities who were in charge of this type of communication to maintain the harmony in the empire and a clear connection with higher powers.
The timing of the INTI RAYMI celebration in the ritual calendar was an exact coordination with the time that the Milky Way aligned with the Vilcanota River. They believed that it was the time in which Heaven and Earth reconciled and the sun rose and set in the Milky Way, and the people came to celebrate this reconciliation, in other words Heaven and Earth came together in a complete harmony bringing order and peace in the whole universe.

Why CUZCO was laid out in the form of a PUMA? By Angela Bernales

The ancient Peruvian capital CUZCO was considered, according to their religious belief, the point of attachment of the umbilical cord to the three levels of existence of the human race.
The CITY acted as such to the Inca empire during its great expansion. The mythology of CUZCO recalls that the CITY was located by "the children of the sun," from TIAHUANACO, according to pre-designed religious rituals.
The name CUZCO means "navel" representing a symbolic gate or small hollow in the middle of the belly from which, according to their belief, a soul was driven to any of the three levels of the Andean religious world (underworld, middle world and upper world). It was the soul's task to fight for the best spot in the upper world for the rest of the eternal life.
When the Spaniards arrived to "the land of the children of the sun," they did not understand the language of this sacred people. They lack of knowledge led them to believe that all was simply the work of demons or malign spirits. However, history and archaeology demonstrate that those wonders are the work of the Incas, Quechuas, the Andean People.
The Imperial CITY of CUZCO was laid out in the form of a PUMA, the animal that symbolized the INCA DYNASTY. The belly of the puma was the main plaza, the river Tullumayo formed its spine, and the hill of SACSAYHUAMAN its head.
The hill has three walls running parallel, built in different levels representing the THREE LEVELS of existence. UKJU PACHA, "the underground stage,"beginning from the bottom in which the boulders used were the biggest. Then followed by the KAY PACHA, 'earth' surface, the middle stage. Ending to the HANAN PACHA, 'sky' stage on the top. The levels were matched with their THREE SACRED ANIMALS : the AMARU or MAch'aqway representing the SNAKE, the PUMA, and the KUNT UR representing the andean CONDOR. These THREE levels divinely interacted and still is known as THREE. This number represent a key number among QUECHUAS, the people of the Andes.

The story of the Giants of the ICA-NAZCA region. Part 2. By Angela Bernales

The GIANTS lived in continuous hostility with the local people of the region and with the natural resources of the environment. They slew almost all the women in order to exterminate the communities of their neighborhood. They also slew the men for other reasons.
The Giants were killing all the natural resources of the Ica-Nazca region of Southern Peru including humankind.
The local people weren't powerful enough and neither numerous enough to kill the GIANTS who occupied their land and lorded it over them, and although they held great discussions about rebellion, they never dare to attack them.
Years passed and the GIANTS still inhabited the land of the ICA-NAZCA region. Because they were only men and they had no women of their own and the women of the neighborhood were too small for them, they mated with each other openly in front of everybody showing through their reckless behavior that they were powerful enough to do whatever they want to whoever they wanted without fear.
They felt as if they owned the world.
The local people felt very unpleased with the grotesque scene and a complaint were heard in heaven.
The CREATOR, unwilling to conceal the sodomy practice committed by the GIANTS, sent them a punishment suited to the beastliness of the crime.
He waited until the time of the giant's mating came and when all the GIANTS were together engaged in this accursed practice, THERE came a fearful FIRE from HEAVEN to the accompaniment of a great noise, IN THE MIDST of which a SHINING ANGEL APPEARED holding a sharp, bright SWORD with which HE SLEW THEM ALL AT A SINGLE STROKE and the FIRE CONSUMED THEM leaving only a few bones and skulls, with which the CREATOR allowed to remain unconsumed as a token of the punishment to be remembered by the people of the ICA-NAZCA region.

The story of the GIANTS of the ICA-NAZCA region. Part 1. By Angela Bernales

This is the account of the people of the Ica-Nazca, region in Southern Peru, about the GIANTS that inhabited the region before the Biblical Deluge in Noah's days happened.
This story is believed by all the people of the Cordillera of the Andes. It is said that very large bones have been found and still are found places where the sites of their villages were and also the wells or cisterns they made.
Since they represented a menace to their region in terms of mystic language, they preserved the places untouched believing that if anyone open up the vault of these negative energy it will devour the souls of the ones who dare to do it.
The Spaniards says in their chronicles about the area, that they saw pieces of teeth that must have weighed half a pound when whole, and also a piece of a shin-bone of enormous size.
It is said that they came by sea, from very remote times, on gigantic reed rafts and landed on the coast at the point of Santa Elena, in the vicinity of the city of Puerto Viejo. Men were so big that an ordinary man scarcely reached up to their knees. They had enormous heads and their hair were grown up to their shoulders, their eyes were as large as the size of the head of an average man. They had clean shaved faces. Some of them wore animal's skin and others were just naked. There were no women with them.
When they reached the Ica-Nazca region, they set their camp like a village. They didn't have water. Instead of moving out, they remedied the lack of it by making some very deep wells. The job was undertaken by such strong men. They dug these wells in the living rock until they came to the water and afterward they built the wells in the living stone from the water line upwards so that they would last for ages. The water from wells were excellent and always cold, very pleasant to drink.
When they were settled and the wells were finished, they ate all the supplies they could find in the neighborhood including men. it is said that one of them ate more that fifty of the people of the land and as the supply of food was not sufficient for them to maintain themselves, they change their diet to sea products. They caught so much fish with their enormous nets and gear that they had.

CHAN CHAN, the gate to the afterlife.

CHAN CHAN ruins are found in the Peruvian region of LA LIBERTAD (The Liberty).
WEST of the principal CITY OF TRUJILLO. The ruins covers 20 km2 and the urban center covers 6 km2. The ADOVE made  city of CHAN CHAN is the largest in the world.
CHAN CHAN situated in a very fertile-well watered section of the coastal plain was the center or capital of the region. Food was primarily from the sea and included such foods as sea lion, shore birds, mussels and shallow-water fish. Later a decline in the local shellfish food forced them to find food from the ground. Then a major part of their diet included AJI (chili peppers), a great variety of LEGUMES, PACAE, LUCUMA, GUAYABA, and AVOCADO. They traded heavily with other regions obtaining CANE, ALGARROBO, and GUANABANA.
CHAN CHAN is also known for its large amount of intact burial mounds and sub-floor BURIALS.
The burials sites give a major view into the complex organization of the city itself. The mounds or tombs have been found within the city walls toward the SOUTH. The change in the patterns give the idea of the beliefs this people had about the afterlife process. It was a process of learning the way of the cosmos and the way of the world. The cosmic life was compared to sparks of energy forming entities which its primarily role was to teach the way of harmony between them.
Bodies were originally buried lying flat on the back in the earliest mounds because the traveling to the other world had to follow a specific ritual then in later burials the body is placed in a flexed seated position showing a different way to departure in the spirit.
Kings were seen and believed to be divine or semi-divine beings.
Each king's tomb was located beneath each of the large citadels and the hallways of the tomb spread out from the center and equaled the same amount of ground space that the above palace covered. The king, even dead could continue his duties in the physical world in the same palace. These palaces became royal mausoleums which would have been looked after and maintained by his close kin.
Funerary rites were performed over a long period of time. Large amount of fine goods were scattered around the dead body. Sacrifices of young women who willingly offered themselves to continue serving the king in the afterlife were performed together with a large amount of llamas. It was believed that the afterlife was a mirror of the physical world and the continuity and harmony of both depended on how the individuals in the physical world maintained the unity of both.

The "OFFERING" ceremony of the People of the Andes.

The Andean People's practice the religious ceremony of making offerings to the mountains, Mother Earth, an other spirits. It was and still is an act of love and a reminder of the connections we share with all beings, elements, spirits and sacred places. It is done in reciprocity, reverence, and thanksgiving. At a deepest level, it is an opportunity to enter into the essential unity of all things.
There are at least 300 variations of OFFERINGS. While there are certain elements common to all, the particular HEALING INTENTION determines the design of the offering, some of the contents, and even the way that offerings are carried on.
The CEREMONY brings PARTICIPANTS into ALIGNMENT with their PERSONAL INTENT, the GROUP INTENT, and the GRATITUDE  to the EARTH.
"Intention" was defined as WHAT CAN MAKE A MAN SUCCEED when his THOUGHTS TELL HIM THAT HE IS DEFEATED. "Intent" is the power that sends a shaman pass through a wall, through space, to infinity.  "Intent" gives the CAPACITY TO CONTROL SUBTLE ENERGIES.
Subtle energies was known as the ones who moves throughout the LIGHT ENERGY BODY that cannot be quantified and do not involve the physical fields of energy. This luminous body is defined as a COCOON that ONLY PERCEIVES. It belongs to the energy bubble that surrounds the body.
The CEREMONY also brings PARTICIPANTS into INTERNAL ALIGNMENT WITH the THREE
BANDS : physical (YANKAY), feeling and heart (MUNAY), and spirit (YACHAY). The alignment is comparable to the alignment of the seven energy centers of other cultural frameworks.
Finally, the CEREMONY HARMONIZES the COMMUNITY through the SHARING of COCA LEAVES and gifts of STONES, all of which STRENGTHEN the LUMINOUS FIBERS THAT CONNECT US ALL.

The WERE-JAGUAR of the JUNGLE (Runauturuncu).

The RUNAUTURUNCU (were-jaguar) is an entity like the WERE-WOLF of western lore. This entity is a human being who is able to transforms or shape-shifts into a JAGUAR. The entity magically assumes the physical manifestation of a different entity.
The non-entities able to channel the energy to shift their bodies were called the NAGUALS. They showed DOUBLE ENERGY configuration. Human beings develop an ego driven by psychological desires, the naguals do not have this configuration at all. The naguals are the bridge between man and animals like gatekeepers and receive orders from cosmic forces that surpasses the effect of space and time. They are non- entities able to move in the spirit world. The word NAGUAL describes the TECHNIQUE of SHAPE-SHIFTING and the SORCERERS who had learned its secrets. Such individuals were greatly feared.
The RUNAUTURUNCU are the ANCIENT DWELLERS of the FOREST. The JAGUAR is identified as the god of the UNDERWORLD, always associated with BLACK SORCERY and riches.
Admired for its HUNTING PROWESS and STRENGTH, it came to represent beauty, power, cunning and mystery.
The powerful hunting skills of the jaguar STRIKE FEAR and ENVY, but although these powers are alluring, the jaguar can be FOOLISH and WEAK.
One tale says that THE END OF THE EARTH will come when JAGUARS ASCEND from the UNDERWORLD to EAT the SUN and the MOON. We can translate this tale into this quotation:
"Sometimes people  foolishly take more than is needed for food, consuming their environment, maybe even themselves without realizing what they are really doing....... that will be the end of this world."

The HUMMINGBIRD of THE ANDES.

The tiny jewel-like iridescent coloring bird, little more than two inches long, is remarkable for far more its decorative qualities. Its flying abilities are unique and the only man-made object that come near to matching the bird's versatility is the helicopter. The bird's WINGS, unlike most other birds, have particularly long "HAND" bones to which the feathers are attached. The wings can MOVE  in many directions like the HUMAN WRIST. The flexibility allows the bird to KEEP its BODY PERFECTLY
STILL while hovering. The wings move very fast -up to 78 beats a second- in a number "8" shape, all that can be seen is a propeller-like blur that creates the characteristic humming SOUND. The bird is able to fly backward, forward, and upside down; to accelerate to full speed at takeoff; and to stop abruptly when it arrives at its destination. Amazing migrators, they are known to wing their way as far as 2000 miles to reach their destination.
The SPIRITUAL significance of the bird is very deep among the Andean people. The bird is known as a MESSENGER and STOPPER of TIME. Also symbolizes LOVE, JOY, and BEAUTY.
Able to flight backwards is interpreted as ABILITY TO LOOK BACK IN TIME BUT MUST NOT DWELL IN IT, INSTEAD MOVE FORWARD.
A symbol of RESURRECTION, because the bird seems to die on cold nights but comes back to life again at sunrise. When the heart is hurt it seems to die but still it is a chance to heal coming to life again.
The fierce INDEPENDENCE of the bird symbolizes that we can heal from deep wounds that make us weak and dependence of others but if we face our own demons then we will be STRONG and able to find the way to heal. Reaching this stage, INDEPENDENCE will knock at our spiritual door in a healthy way.
The tiredness of the bird seeking the sweetest nectar tells us that FOREVER we need to SEEK OUT THE GOODNESS OF LIFE and THE BEAUTY OF EACH DAY.

MOCHES (MOCHICAS), who were they?

They were people that existed prior the formation of the Inka Empire. MOCHES settled on the north-ern coast of what is now PERU. They were the dominant CULTURE OF THE NORTH. The name was taken from the SACRED RIVER that runs through their land. Their capital was placed at the midst of the Valley of MOCHE, and they were the GUARDIANS of the ENERGY FIELDS produced in the area. The land of the MOCHES extended along the hot coast from LAMBAYEQUE RIVER VALLEY to the NEPENE RIVER VALLEY (215 miles or 350 kilometers south from Lambayeque).
The best-known remains are near the CITY OF TRUJILLO in the sacred MOCHE River Valley.
Two giant structures, known as THE TEMPLE OF THE SUN (HUACA del SOL) and the TEMPLE
OF THE MOON (HUACA de la LUNA), dominate the site. They truly believed in the astral bodies of the SUN and the MOON. As leaving creatures, these forces or energies were in control of the physical realm. They selected warriors of superhuman nature to serve as priests and, trough ceremonials and rituals, were able to opened the gates between realms and let these forces to take control of the elements that governed the Universe according to their own system of laws. These energies materialized in the physical realm in harmony bringing prosperity but if they were in conflict the live energy of the culture itself was in jeopardy.
The way of understanding how these energy field worked out, they were instructed to channel STREAMS that came from THE ANDES, at the same time they were channeling THE FORCES OF THE UNIVERSE manifested on the ground. The MOCHES form an extensive SYSTEM OF IRRIGATION. The WATER ENERGY was manifested as LIFE ENERGY used to grow corn, potatoes and other crops. The same pattern was followed in a cosmic way.
The sophisticated craft goods that they produced shows the manifestation of these forces over the physical world. Pottery shows heads of individuals, animals, plants, buildings, and demonic beings.
Painted scenes show a profound understanding of ceremonial and everyday life, including the offering of prisoners-of-war to the cosmic forces of the universe and the ritual consumption of their blood.
As skilled metalworkers, in their jewelry they used chemical processes to electroplate gold and silver.
The cease to exist because the energy forces of the universe that maintained them alive moved forcing them to move or being meddled to a bigger energy center, that was the INKA EMPIRE.

GREEN MEDICINE OF THE INKAS : ACHIOTE TREE

For thousands of years ACHIOTE HAS BEEN USED by the Andean People for thousands of years to CURE and PREVENT MINOR and LIFE-THREATENING ILLNESSES.
ACHIOTE is the common NAME for the SEED THAT GROWS INSIDE THE FRUIT of the ACHIOTE TREE. During the AUTUM season, the ACHIOTE FRUIT RIPENS, the fruit itself is not edible, but the seeds inside are. The seed's coating is dried under the sun and then ground and added to the dishes to punch up the flavor in the Latin American cuisine. It is used as a natural food coloring.
Its NATURAL YELLOW COLOR is due to its high BIXIN LEVELS. Bixins are POWERFUL CAROTENOIDES that PROTECT THE EYES FROM THE HARMFUL EFFECT OF THE UV RAYS preventing the formation of CATARACTS and premature blindness. They are also potent ANTIOXIDANTS preventing the sign of aging by fighting off the free radicals that destroy cells.
The Andean people use the LEAVES to HEAL EXTERNAL as well as INTERNAL AILMENTS.

Green Medicine of the Inkas: HEALERS (CURANDEROS)

The DIVINE SYMBOLISM OF THE HUMAN BODY and ITS RELATION TO THE COSMOLOGY OF THE UNIVERSE was treated as A SACRED BOND by the healers in the Inka Empire
The Andean system of HEALING ENERGY was based on a profound understanding of the  FORCES OF THE PHYSICAL BODY (nature), FORCES OF THE SPIRITUAL REALM OVER THE PHYSICAL BODY, the PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECT OVER THE MIND, and the SOCIAL NEEDS OF THE PEOPLE who use it (collective energy).
The GOAL of this SYSTEM OF HEALING ENERGY was to CREATE A BALANCE between the human body and the forces of the universe acting over it.
They believed that the human body was a being of light formed at the beginning of everything. It was the product resulting from the manifestation of the Creator (Wiracocha) of the Universe. In other words a replica of Himself acting inside the human body. It was his own image in a compressed body. All worlds were reflected in the human body and through the journey in earth, men  were perfecting his own nature.
The HEALING ENERGY was treated as a blending of many things such us RELIGIOUS BELIEFS,
FAITH, and PRAYER; with the USE OF HERBS, ENERGY CENTERS, and other traditional methods of healing. It can be defined as a set of traditional beliefs, rituals, and practices that addressed the physical, spiritual, psychological, and social needs of the people who used it.
Today western healers seek to treat the person, not the illness itself. In the belief that the mind plays a major role in certain bodily ailments, they use supplements in order to alter the patient's emotional state and thus leave the door open for the consumption of a variety of pharmaceutical products.

Ancestry, how the Inkas dealt with it.

Memory, was and is something that is present everywhere and nowhere in particular. They brain, according to them, was not a warehouse full of memories but a powerful devise for tuning them in. They observed the way of nature, the capability that animals species inherit their unique characteristics.
As forms of living creatures have evolved, they believed that a certain field was formed according to their nature and characteristics. This field ensures that the descendants will conform to the patterns established by generations of their own kind, be they any living creature.
The ANCESTORS have created the forms of their species, as new species develops, it contributes to the perseverance of their own fields, and at the same time the field shapes the individual. This beliefs made them very aware of the consequences for breaking the laws of nature.
This type of phenomenon are not detected in laboratories. They do exist in harmony with the laws of nature, and, they do not obey accepted man's laws of science. They exist from the beginning of times and are the only ones that allow direct communication between the past and the present, a phenomenon that no existing scientific instrument can detect.
The astral knowledge of the forces of the universe let them be aware of the language that they hold in order to coexist without interruption, otherwise the same fields with no coordination to the source ended up destroying the field in which the species formed and survived.
Imagine a force of resonance by which one in this present time is able to communicate with those that resembled them in the past. This resonance not only permit individuals to communicate with their ancestors but also enables to tune in its own past.
Therefore MEMORY IS A JOURNEY THAT THE MIND MAKES INTO THE PAST VIA THE FIELD OF RESONANCE, not a physical record stored in the brain.

Black Magic and White Magic in the Inka Empire

Black magic was understood as "the conscious exercise of evil." In other words "the perversion of white magic." It, sometimes called "the left-hand path." The various stages of white magic were concerned with helping the soul in order to overcome the difficulties of the evolution of mankind. The methods used to the aid of the human being were intended to ease the conflicts and separations that existed between the physical body and the spiritual body of mankind.
Black magic was used to block this healing process, perverting the forces that were suppose to heal and converting them in the malpractice of poisoning the spiritual and physical bodies. Both, the white and the black magic, used the same knowledge to canalize the healing or poisoning process but with different views. While the healing forces created a storehouse of healing energy diminishing the obstacles that created the separation of the spiritual and physical bodies, the opposite mechanism instead had the view to creating conflict between the spiritual and physical bodies of man, making him vulnerable to any kind of illnesses.
The black magicians always had a selfish purpose underlying his ceremonial ritual; usually he had in mind the perversion or destruction of another entity for his own personal gain or for the gain of those whom he represented.
The popular distinction that was drawn between white and black ceremonials was that white magic was involved with "the work of the sons of light," whereas black magic was involved with "the work of the demons."
The people of the Andes were very deep connected with the forces of nature. They had a profound respect towards them because they were "the protectors of their souls." The people pleased them with festivals and offerings and were very concerned when they were offended through any kind of wrongdoings. They, as much as they could tried to maintain the balance they needed in order to increase its power and maintain the unity of their people.

GATEKEEPERS

Gatekeeper, also called doorkeeper, served at various places, such as CITY GATES, TEMPLE GATES, even at the DOORWAYS of HOMES.
Gatekeepers of the CITY GATES were appointed to see that the GATES were closed al night time, and acted as a WATCHMEN at the gate. Other watchmen were posted as lookouts on top of the gate or in a tower where they got a wide range of view  and announced those approaching the CITY. They cooperated with the gatekeeper.
It was a very responsible position inasmuch as the SAFETY of the CITY DEPENDED ON THE GATEKEEPER to a considerable degree, and he was AN INSTRUMENT OF COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THOSE OUTSIDE the CITY and THOSE INSIDE.
They were responsible TO GUARD the CITY's doors and see that they were opened and closed AT THE PROPER TIME. Besides guard duty, SOME took care of the CONTRIBUTIONS BROUGHT IN BY THE PEOPLE FOR USE AT THE TEMPLE.
In the mythology of the INKA EMPIRE, the SOULS were linked to the ascent or descent of the planetary spheres, each of them having their own GATEKEEPERS.
They had a rebirth tradition linked with the descent of the SOUL through the planetary spheres prior the release of the SOUL from the GATEKEEPER of the place where it was bounded, which postulates   a progress harmful to the good of the soul. The descent pictured the "sluggishness" (slow to act or move) of Saturn,  the "desire of domination" of Jupiter,  the "passionateness" of Mars,  the "lustfulness"
of Venus,  and the "avarice" and "greed" of Mercury. It was believed that the PURE SOUL was tested by these influences and the weak ones were blinded by the influences of these powers making it unable to use its own powers. Ordinary life was that of a unconscious or semiconscious tests in the spirit, like passing in a sort of shadow realm.
