The Andean system of HEALING ENERGY was based on a profound understanding of the FORCES OF THE PHYSICAL BODY (nature), FORCES OF THE SPIRITUAL REALM OVER THE PHYSICAL BODY, the PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECT OVER THE MIND, and the SOCIAL NEEDS OF THE PEOPLE who use it (collective energy).
The GOAL of this SYSTEM OF HEALING ENERGY was to CREATE A BALANCE between the human body and the forces of the universe acting over it.
They believed that the human body was a being of light formed at the beginning of everything. It was the product resulting from the manifestation of the Creator (Wiracocha) of the Universe. In other words a replica of Himself acting inside the human body. It was his own image in a compressed body. All worlds were reflected in the human body and through the journey in earth, men were perfecting his own nature.
The HEALING ENERGY was treated as a blending of many things such us RELIGIOUS BELIEFS,
FAITH, and PRAYER; with the USE OF HERBS, ENERGY CENTERS, and other traditional methods of healing. It can be defined as a set of traditional beliefs, rituals, and practices that addressed the physical, spiritual, psychological, and social needs of the people who used it.
Today western healers seek to treat the person, not the illness itself. In the belief that the mind plays a major role in certain bodily ailments, they use supplements in order to alter the patient's emotional state and thus leave the door open for the consumption of a variety of pharmaceutical products.
